Vote Cope

This year, we are again asking for a $1/paycheck donation from all members. Please contribute and help our membership as we continue to support education and labor!

Did you ever worry about tenure-midyear layoffs- teacher’s centers, BOCES FUNDING, SAFE SCHOOLS, etc? We have an organization in place to fight to keep these programs and obtain more benefits for our profession.

Last year the Vote Cope organization fought to keep teacher centers open, save and FINANCE the mentor program, improve the terms of retirement and aid districts with possible layoffs.

This year Vote Cope has a more difficult battle to protect our profession because of the state budget deficit projections ranging possibly up to 12 billion. We need a committee to support education and labor.

Vincent Lazzara is our representative for Albany. Twice a year he travels to Albany to meet face-to-face with our legislators and discuss important education and labor issues-two things that impact you directly. Your voluntary contribution to this effort helps fund the million dollar plus price tag associated with this bi-annual lobby effort. Speak to Vinny- he will tell you how important it is to support Vote Cope.

As times become difficult, we need to stick together in our profession. We are looking for each member to donate ten dollars to support the Vote Cope Fund. Let’s show 100 percent support.

The building reps will be contacting you about your contribution. Please give our contribution to the building reps.
