Faculty Representatives

Faculty Representatives typically work in your building (often called "building reps") and should be a member's first point of contact when requesting information regarding union membership. A Faculty representative acts as a liaison between the union members, the local union leadership, and the building's administration. Members should seek out their Faculty Representatives to answer questions about rights, benefits, working conditions, and explanations of the contract. Faculty Representatives provide timely news and updates of union activities through regularly scheduled building meetings, by posting flyers in common staff areas, and membership memos via personal email accounts. Members have the right to request a Faculty Representative to accompany them to meetings with administration if they believe that the meeting could result in disciplinary action.
